The doe's coat was still wet, perhaps not long since she pulled herself out of whatever pond or puddle she called home. Her smile, while trying to seem friendly, was still a little creepy. "Ah!" Way's voice was soft as she spied the mare eyeballing her from afar. "My prayer has been answered!"
Trapped. Harmony pushed a nervous smile onto her face. "Yes, I have heard you."
Way bent one knee, acknowledging the presence of the mare, but popped up quickly, her expression bright and eager. It almost made her look soft and approachable! "I am in need of a blessing for I am with foals!"
"Oh..! How ah, wonderful!" In Harmony's eyes flicked towards her dark colored body, and as she had said, life was beginning to bud inside her belly. "What sort of blessing may I grant you? Strength, wisdom, kindness..""Lethality?"
"Pardon?"
Way chuckled. "I'm sorry, I was kidding..sorta. I only wish my children to be healthy and grow up to be able to survive the harshness of the swamp. Nothing special."
"It is very kind that you are blessing your offspring, I'm sure the father will also be.."
"Oh pft, what he wants isn't important to me. He won't be the one to bare these children, it's me. I am the one who has come here to make sure my children come into the world as strongly as possible to survive."
Inwardly, In Harmony found herself agreeing to an extent, but she'd seen plenty of fathers coming for blessing themselves. "I'm sure if he knew, he would also be appreciative of your..."
"I ate him." Way said it matter-of-factly and flashed a big grin. The horror must have been obvious even in Harmony's bright eyes because the doe began to giggle again. "Sorry, sorry, I promise he's alive as far as I know at the moment."
Harmony wasn't sure if that helped or not. Either way, it was time to be on her way before she accidentally learned of places in the swamp to hide bodies or some other such morbidly helpful tip that Way might impart to her.
The siren felt warmth touch the tip of her nose and ripple through her body from tail to toes. A voice echoed in her head;
"May your foals be blessed with the tenacity, drive, strength, bravery and wit to continue your legacy."
When the feeling had passed, Way looked up to thank the Mare, but found she'd already gone. She focused inward, trying to remember the words and the warmth so that her soon to be children could be washed in them again, along with her own prayers for them.
